’s top 5 blog posts you have to read this summer – Life Unlocked

Summer is finally in full swing and will bring us long days and (hopefully) plenty of sunshine. This year will definitely bring some changes when it comes to travelling abroad but there are still a lot of chances to relax while exploring and enjoying local spots and sights. All you need for a perfect time off is a smartphone with Klevio app installed (so you’ll be able to let your friends in for the purpose of watering plants and picking up mail) and a big pile of books, magazines and blogs to read to keep yourself busy. We’ve taken a walk through our previous blog posts – there’s quite a lot of interesting things we’ve written about in the past two years. So here they are – our top 5 blog posts to read this summer.

Why we created time-limited keys

At Klevio we work on the principle that there’s no substitute for talking with our users. Simply put, no amount of in-house road-mapping or brainstorming sessions can match hearing about the first-hand experiences of the people who use our product daily. And that is exactly how time-limited keys came to life – from surveys that our beta testers have filled out. And boy, do we have great users or what? Two years later, could you imagine your life without time-limited keys? If you don’t know what we’re talking about, do read about all the advantages they bring.

The proof of the pudding lies in the fact that so many of Klevio’s functions and features are a direct result of feedback we’ve received …

Boxing clever? Klevio vs. lock boxes

There’s no doubt that we offer a product that has quite a lot of competition on the market – may they be tech companies operating in the Internet of Things space or completely analogue solutions like your everyday lock boxes. While Klevio won’t ever be as cheap as a lock box we can confidently argue it beats those solutions hands-down on all other fronts. We also uncovered five major flaws of lock boxes – and now, in the post-COVID-19 reality, we could also add that they are not a great use case when you want to keep things as hygienic as possible.

At Klevio, we spend a lot of time discussing how to position ourselves in relation to smart locks. During these conversations, it can be easy to assume all our competitors are also tech companies operating in the Internet of Things space – but the reality is surprisingly more analogue.

What’s in a name? To be a smart lock, or not to be a smart lock, that is the question.

There’s still no simple answer to the question ‘what is Klevio?’. But we all agree that in the last months we’ve stopped worrying about what exactly we are and we rather explain what we do – we simplify access. We offer keyless access with digital keys. Smart lock or smart intercom, the more we focus on our B2B customers, the less we worry about how we are classified. Nevertheless, do read our interesting thoughts from almost 2 years ago!

One of the perennial discussions we have at Klevio is about how best to describe ourselves.  There’s still no simple answer to the question ‘what is Klevio?’ and it continues to give our marketing team sleepless nights.

Because although Klevio is similar to other types of products …

Intercom, inter-go: The curious life of a Klevio installer

While the marketing and development team are sitting in the office all day long and enjoying a quiet peaceful life, our installers are out in the wild! Rarely one installation is the same as the previous one and sometimes they do drive our installers crazy. Now we like to think we’ve got the installation process at Klevio down to a fine art — but it wasn’t always that way. Read what Mark Curling, now our COO, who’s got more than 100 Klevio installations under his tool-laden belt, had to say about the day-to-day quirks and challenges of the job.

We like to think we’ve got the installation process at Klevio down to a fine art — but it wasn’t always that way. We spoke with Mark Curling, who’s got more than 100 Klevio installations under his tool-laden belt, to hear about the day-to-day quirks and challenges of the job.

“It was like trying to fly a plane while you’re building it,” is the neat analogy Mark offers to describe his first attempts at installing Klevio in people’s homes. Back then, with our product a mere babe in arms and …
